vCam AS3 Interactive

Introducing vCam AS3 Interactive. The original vCam AS3 uses the BitmapData class to optimize performance during playback. When you view the vCam AS3 swf you are watching a bitmap transformation of the stage. While this is ideal for animation projects, it causes problems when you want to incorporate buttons or interactive elements into your presentation. I had a request this weekend for an interactive version of vCam AS3. This version will allow you to add interactive elements. However, you will notice a performance difference especially when applying the blur filter. The vCam AS2 already supports interactive elements since it does not use the BitmapData class for optimization.

    Hi Bryan,

I’ve been using this tool for a while, it’s really great! It takes so much headache out of adding little motion shakes, camera blurs and stuff like that. :)

    Thanks!

Thanks for providing an interactive version of the vCam utility. We are using this for our Flash interaction and animation class. I was wondering how I could have another movieclip object or image float on top of the vCam “stage”. Is there a addChild or stage.addChild command that I need to include in order for an image object to float above the vCam… or is there a layer option within the vCam object that I could add something to that would create some sort of visible mask or ’shell’ and have the vCam underneath it…
    Thanks.

    Hi Bryan,

    vCam is excellent!

I’m just having 1 problem, when I load my swf (with the vCam in) into another swf (the preloader) it just seems to register the stage of the child swf rather than the vCam view.

Is there any way to solve this?

    Thanks

    Will
